Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to walk or travel moderate distances to perform work. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop or laptop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Regular review of completed tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related field AND 3 years web and database experience which includes creating and updating table structures and views as well as CSS development; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Demonstrated knowledge of web-based applications and associated database requirements.
- Experience with PeopleSoft development, including knowledge of Application Designer and PeopleTools.
- Experience developing queries and automation within a PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment or similar.
- Experience developing with PeopleTools and PHP or similar technology, including integration with back-end database systems.
- Experience working with complex database structures and platforms including Oracle and/or Amazon Redshift or similar.
- Experience developing and maintaining SQL code including stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constraints.
- Experience developing and implementing web services.
- Experience with Drupal or similar site development, administration, and maintenance.
- Experience developing custom themes and modules in Drupal or similar.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in designing Web accessibility, usability and security.
- Experience in work that requires attention to detail.
- Experience working in fast-paced environment where flexibility is key and directions can change frequently.
- Experience in effectively organizing, prioritizing, and completing work activities.

Essential Duties
- Designs, develops, implements and enhances web applications and systems to ensure highly engaging interactions, intuitive interaction and efficient use of business systems that drive student success and enhance user experience.
- Designs, develops, implements and enhances PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications to support ASU's graduate students and staff, including the award-winning interactive Plan of Study (iPOS) application.
- Develops code and/or other technical solutions to implement requested enhancements.
- Develops and maintains SQL code including stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constraints.
- Contributes to the development of database stored procedures, Drupal modules, PHP, SQL scripts, and XML/web services to ensure seamless integration across university systems.
- Interacts with Director and other Graduate College technology staff to create, update, and maintain tables/datasets on ASU's student information system.
- Works closely with business analyst to gather requirements, develop code and/or other technical solutions and tests application enhancements/fixes to implement requests in accordance with user specifications.
- Identifies and troubleshoots problems with web-based and PeopleSoft applications; researches solutions; works collaboratively with involved stakeholders and end-users to implement fixes and facilitate timely resolution; escalates as appropriate.
- Participates in a collaborative team environment to ensure the success of the project teams responsible for analysis, design, development, review and testing.
- Provides technical analysis to support requested modifications from business/functional users.
- Establishes and maintains effective communications with customers, other technology specialists, and vendors about services.
- Develops and improves user systems procedures, and prepares systems documentation.
- Maintains a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise on a group of technology products or on a technology platform through research, vendor presentations and training.
- Remains abreast of technology directions, initiatives and trends within scope of expertise to provide ideas, guidance and recommendations.
- Coordinates with other information technology organizations including the central IT organization to ensure optimal use, security and efficiency of computer and related resources.
