The Opportunity

The Digital Print/CAD Drafter Programmer position at Lumicor is a great opportunity for an ambitious self-starter who wants to be a part of our dynamic Technical Services team. Responsibilities

1. Prepare Digital Print drawings for Customer Approval, Shop Instructions and Print Vendor instructions.
2. Prepare Digital Print files and submit to various Print vendors.
3. Prepare detailed drawings from notes, sketches and/or customer drawings for simple and complex projects to convey our products and solutions and how they are used in specific environments.
4. Work with Lumicor customers and various Lumicor departments including: sales, manufacturing, purchasing and marketing to serve customer needs.
5. Provide creative, well-considered solutions to design problems.
6. Calculate/Nest part sizes, value engineer when necessary.
7. Call out/detail joints, fabrication techniques and hardware on shop drawings.
8. Ability to create router programs for all CNC equipment (routers, saw, sonic knife, etc.).
9. Know the basic operation for all CNC equipment.
10. Create and/or update Procedures and Work Instructions as needed for all Software and CNC equipment.
11. Request hardware quotes from approved vendors and send Inside Sales Team pricing for quotes.
12. Lumilight/Lumisheet quoting, internal and external lighting options.
13. Create purchasing request (PR’s) in intuitive per approved Standard Operating Procedures.
14. Hardware/Solutions Product Development, assist in concept to launch.
15. Cross check other team members work as required.

Skills

CAD

1. Proficient in AutoCAD.
2. Proficient in CAM program (MasterCam).

Digital Print

1. Proficient in Adobe creative software products (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).

Knowledge/Experience

1. 1-3 years relevant experience.
2. Experience with Digital Printing file preparation.
3. Experience with CNC, manufacturing, fabrication, woodworking, casework, hardware and plastics a plus.
4. Degree in related fields.
5. Working knowledge of drafting standards.
6. Blueprint reading, basic math and working knowledge of measuring devices.
7. Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
8. Willingness to learn and receive training and to train others.
