Software Engineer – Hybrid

Role Title: Software Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $97.60/hr
Work Location: Hybrid within drivable distance from Seattle office.
Work Schedule: Normal PST business hours, Monday – Friday

Project Overview:
Geo Automotive is a business that empowers Automotive OEMs to make software-defined cars, or smart cars, by providing a suite of Maps-based products, including Google Maps Embedded and OEM SDK. This project aims to create a maps navigation app, written in Android, that integrates with the OEM SDK product. The app will visualize the map and provide the driver with a set of features to assist everyday driving.

Overall Responsibilities:

1. Given the OEM SDK API documentation and product requirements, design, implement, and test the maps app.
2. Collaborate with Senior developers and API developers to implement end-to-end user features including UI, storage, and networking components.
3. Provide feedback to the API developers.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

1. Implement end-to-end user features.
2. Validate the API with its specs.

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent.
2. 3+ years of experience in Android software development.
3. 3+ years of experience in application development with user interfaces.
4. Fluent written and spoken English.
5. Kotlin programming experience.
6. Git version control.

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:

1. Experience in the Automotive industry, e.g., Headunit and Infotainment software development.
2. Experience in on-device API development.
3. Experience in building maps applications using Mapbox SDK or MapLibre SDK.
