The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations on projects involving site characterization; landfill design and construction; earth retaining structures; deep and soft/weak foundations; dams and water containment structures; geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; numerical analysis of stability and deformation; and geohazard / earthquake characterization / mitigation, while learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Geotechnical and environmental field investigations and site characterization;
- Performing geotechnical and geoenvironmental instrumentation monitoring, drilling, and contractor oversight;
- Performing and reviewing engineering calculations, such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, seepage, and stormwater modelling;
- Designing and constructing with geosynthetics;
- Landfill design and permitting;
- Earthquake engineering;
- Dam and levee evaluations;
- Developing construction documents, plans, and specifications;
- Writing and reviewing engineering reports, memoranda, and proposals.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental and/or geotechnical and/or geological engineering or geology. (required)
- Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering. (preferred)
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Outstanding academic credentials and strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. (required)

- Commitment to career development and growth. (required)
- Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting. (preferred)
- Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Surfer, HydroCAD, Slope/W, SLIDE, and/or PLAXIS. (preferred)
- Experience with scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or Visual Basic) (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
