We are looking for an outstanding electrical engineer to be a core part of our highly multidisciplinary technical team working alongside mechanical and chemical engineers, chemists, other scientists, and outside contractors.

The position scope includes supporting R&D through the design, development and maintenance of laboratory devices/tools, multidisciplinary technology and engineering development of various components and subsystems, as well as design, deployment and monitoring of fully integrated field-ready systems for processing water.

The successful candidate will have proven mechatronics experience to create monitoring and control strategies, and instrumentation systems consisting of various chemical, mechanical or fluid sensors, flow control devices etc. Experience in water treatment, or oil and gas sectors is a plus.

Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, in particular experience in designing and monitoring industrial systems for the movement and control of fluids and particulate materials is strongly preferred. In depth knowledge of, or experience with network operating centers (NOC) is a big plus.

Work is expected to be hybrid with a blend of remote and on-site work as required. The company’s primary place of business, including its laboratory, is currently located in Seattle, WA at 525 South Brighton Street.

Our compensation philosophy:

We want to work with exceptional people, and we know that exceptional people's time is highly valuable. We pay attention to market trends and data, and we aim to compensate our people in a way that keeps them committed to our team and to our mission. At the same time, we're trying to do something new, and to do it, we need to partner with investors who put their capital and their trust in us to be judicious in how we spend money. You can expect to find compensation structures that include a reasonable base salary, year-end performance bonus opportunities that recognize how you and the company have done, employee stock options that align your comp with the interests of the investors, achievement-based bonuses or pay structures when appropriate, flexible work locations when appropriate, flexible time off, and outstanding healthcare benefits.

Who we are:

We have a mission driven culture, focused on results

Changing the world is hard work. We're looking for co-workers who find our mission as compelling as we do. But we also recognize that people cannot drink good intentions; it’s the results that matter.

Badwater Alchemy operates on a foundation of mutual trust. We're not each other's keepers. We want to work alongside people who are able to articulate and regularly confirm their own goals, who take time to understand others' priorities, who collaborate seamlessly, and who drive themselves to deliver on targets that feel aspirational when set. It's dynamic, fun and engaging.

We are committed to our work, but we also understand that working a lot is not the same as working effectively. We’re present at the office when we need to be, and we work where we're most comfortable when we don't. Some of us live in Seattle. Some travel there as needed. Water is a global problem, and we expect to be a global team.

We have a flexible PTO policy, outstanding benefits, and we ensure our team has skin in the game alongside our investors with our employee stock option plan.

We want to start sourcing for candidates and expect to fill this position over the next several months. You will hear back regarding the status of your application, but it may take a while.
