Machinist - CNC or Manual

New hires are eligible for a $2500 sign-on bonus! This position is available for 2nd shift: 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm and also for 3rd shift: 11:30 pm - 7:30 am, depending on candidate preference or availability.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes and mills, including a variety of turned and cast parts
• Read and interpret blueprints using conventional and geometric tolerances
• Adjust speeds and feeds to maximize machining productivity
• Machine parts to narrow tolerances (.001") from raw material and/or castings while understanding safety and quality requirements
• Operate/machine parts as needed to meet blueprint specifications

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in metal cutting with CNC or manual machines
• Ability to accurately measure tolerances using micrometers, calipers, tri-mics, etc.
• Computer literacy, including basic knowledge of design and casting preparation
• Capability to read and follow route sheets and blueprints
• People-oriented with good communication skills
• Knowledge of product/process and entrepreneurship spirit
• Highly organized with a proactive approach

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Technical or vocational certifications in CNC or Manual Machining
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Programming ability is a plus, though not required
• Safe operation of bridge cranes
