Mechanical Engineer (Design & Project Management)
Location: Memphis, TN (MEP Firm)
An established Engineering/Architecture/Planning (MEP) firm in the Memphis area is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design and project management to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to exciting projects and play a key role in their successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Manage the lifecycle of projects from conceptual design through to completion, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are met.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with overall project designs.
- Prepare detailed design documents, including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with project plans and ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and support staff as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of current building codes and industry standards to ensure all designs are compliant.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Licensed Engineer (PE); strongly prefer licensure in the state of Tennessee.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, particularly in the MEP field.
- HVAC systems design experience, client level interaction and industry knowledge is required
- LEED Accreditation is preferred.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards licensure.
- Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
