About the Role

IPS Diversified Products is pursuing a strategic mission to develop new IP, improve our delivery of projects, and wow our customers with solutions that change the industries we serve. We are looking for a Sr. Product Engineering Manager in Collierville, TN to be a catalyst of this mission by leading the Engineering team in delivering best-in-class product and process development projects to customers. Our team of engineers are based in Collierville and this role will work collaboratively with the Product Management, Quality, and Operations teams to help ensure the division meets strategic product initiatives according to scope, schedule, quality, and budget constraints. Reporting to our VP of Product Management and Engineering, this role will be an engineering leader in creating new IP for the division as well as focusing on our 6,000+ existing products. There will be 10% travel associated with the role traveling to customer sites and collecting VOC feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align Engineering Team activities with the Division’s financial and long-term goals
  • Lead both people and projects simultaneously
  • Drive product development and VAVE projects by setting requirements, goals and project plans
  • Serve as primary management of product stage gate process that delivers repeatable, consistent, high quality, innovative results
  • Establish and manage Engineering Change process for division’s complete product portfolio
  • Ensure completion of new product and value engineering projects within deadlines and budgets
  • Direct Technical Service activities to ensure listing integrity and third-party compliance
  • Coordinate product quality issues and resolutions through engineering and quality teams
  • Manage Engineering Department’s budget
  • Implement innovative processes and technologies
  • Demonstrate initiative and bring new ideas to the company
  • Exhibit drive, grit, and a team commitment: strong desire to compete and win

Required Experience

  • 7+ years mechanical engineering, product engineering or relevant experience
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree
  • Experience with Six Sigma and LEAN principles
  • Strength in product development and stage gate process management
  • Strong background in process implementation and solution focused results
  • Experience in Engineering Change Notification process implementation and management
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in building material industry, materials engineering, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • 3+ years of direct report managerial experience
