Do you want to work in a hands-on, multi-discipline design engineering environment, writing, and debugging software on physical hardware?

Our equipment software team is looking to hire a driven, motivated Senior Embedded Software Engineer who will build embedded software running on bare metal to embedded Linux as well as higher level interface software. You will work with other software engineers and other engineering fields to build custom semiconductor testers from the ground up.

Daily Work

The daily work of our embedded team involves:

  1. Working in cross-discipline design teams involving software, electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers.
  2. Developing embedded and interface software, providing feedback to schematic design, reviewing PCB layouts, prototyping circuits, debugging analog and digital hardware, automating testing, developing user libraries to control hardware, and developing documentation.
  3. Coding primarily in C, C++, and Python under Linux for various microcontrollers and computing modules acting as the interface to custom hardware.

Primary responsibilities

  1. Work closely with software, electrical, mechanical, and control engineers in the design and development of next-generation memory testers.
  2. Supporting existing testers.
  3. Develop/Debug in C/C++ for embedded environments.
  4. Develop/Debug in C++ and Python for the hardware interface environment.
  5. Use of lab equipment for design bring-up and testing.
  6. Communication – written, spoken, creating technical documents.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. 3 Years Minimum Experience in Embedded Software Interfacing with Hardware.
  3. C and C++ proficiency.
  4. Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge.
  5. Comprehension of analog circuitry.
  6. Lab Equipment Familiarity.
  7. Schematic, PCB Layout Familiarity.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 5+ Years Experience in Embedded Software Interfacing with Hardware.
  2. Python and Bash proficiency.
  3. Proficiency in Linux and GNU tool chain.
  4. Experience with schematics and PCB layout.
  5. Experience programmatically interfacing with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs).
  6. Proficiency in analog circuitry.
  7. Calibration Experience.
