Our mission is to ship the very best integrated GPUs in the world. Qualcomm’s GPU silicon team is responsible for the implementation and silicon bring-up/characterization of Qualcomm's Adreno GPUs for all market segments (mobile phones, compute, automotive, AR/VR, wearables).

We are looking for an engineer who can drive changes in the design and implementation strategies of the GPU to increase its performance per unit of silicon area.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify limitations and propose alternatives to make the physical structure of the GPU more scalable across product tiers and segments (value and premium tier mobile, compute).
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to the floorplan of the GPU. Understand the data flow across major buses and the implications for physical design, in particular for feedthroughs.
  • Identify issues and propose enhancements to the high-speed clocking methodology. Define the clock gating and clock distribution strategies.
  • Identify issues and propose enhancements to synthesis and place-and-route methodologies to support higher clock frequencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Physical design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 6 years of related work experience.
  • OR: Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 5 years of related work experience.
  • OR: Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or related field and 4 years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed CPU/GPU implementation methodologies: floorplan, clocking, RTL, synthesis, P&R, static timing analysis.
  • General understanding of circuit design.
  • Knowledge of GPU architecture, or ability to learn.
  • Understanding of power/thermal management.
  • Understanding of power delivery network.
  • Understanding of PBTI/NBTI, TDDB, HCI, and electromigration.
  • Programming and scripting skills, such as Python and Tcl.
  • Experience in working with RTL design and architecture teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
