FIPS 140 Security Engineer opportunity

100% onsite in Columbia, MD

What You Will Get to Do:

1. The selected candidate will work on varied FIPS 140 validation projects.
2. General security analysis
3. Design work (product architecture)
4. Vulnerability testing
5. Physical security testing
6. System-level logical analysis
7. Product evaluations against Technology Type standards (Protection Profiles)
8. Cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) testing
9. Cryptographic algorithm testing
10. Source code review activities
11. Technical report writing and review
12. Testing automation through scripting
13. Develop applications to support test cases

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

1. Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Certification
2. Knowledge of cryptographic encryption algorithms, key exchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms, PKI, random number generators, etc.
3. Experience with various programming languages (C, C++, Python or Java) and development environments
4. Ability to comprehend security standard requirements and apply them to products
5. Experience setting up networks and familiarity with subnetting and routing concepts
6. Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.)
7. Experience building testing environments, performing testing and reporting results (technical writing)
8. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
9. Strong multitasking and time management

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

1. Experience with Python programming language
2. Experience with debugging (Android debug bridge (adb), WinDBG, Visual Studio, etc.)
3. Experience with statistical analysis of entropy sources
4. Knowledge of OpenSSL and/or OpenPGP
5. Vulnerability Analysis and/or penetration testing experience/expertise
6. Strong knowledge of computer security principles and best practices
7. Strong English (both oral and written) skills
8. Related certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE)
9. Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux
10. Hands on experience using tools such as an oscilloscope, function generator, multi-meter, signal generator, etc.
11. Knowledge of X.509 certificate validation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a BS degree with 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience.
