We are looking for a Cobol Programmer in Baltimore, MD for a 6+ months contract position.
Job Description:
Position: Cobol Programmer
Duration: 6+ months
Client: Direct Client
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and tests COBOL programs based on design specifications.
- Conducts appropriate unit testing of programs.
- Supports System, Integration, and User Acceptance testing.
- Provides designs and design support on programs to be developed.
- Other production support as required.
Required Skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or at least three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
- General Experience: At least eight (8) years of programming experience in software development or maintenance.
- Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in IT systems analysis and programming.
- At least ten (10) years of COBOL development experience.
Desired Skills:
- Education: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- General Experience: At least one (1) year of programming experience at an academic institution.
- Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of experience working in a higher education setting supporting administrative offices such as Admissions, Registrars, Financial Aid, Accounting, and/or Business Office.
