Role/ Department:

Seeking a dynamic engineer who is passionate about the security and safety of Northern Trust premises and employees. As a senior lead in our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying features and components in a large-scale system. We expect you to drive improvements to code quality, performance, and team processes while leveraging modern web technologies and tools. You should be able to debug problems arising from implementing security technologies and understand the implications of your implementations.

Responsibilities

Develops and administers the solutions that meet system expectations relative to scalability, performance, fault tolerance, usability, and data integrity. Delivers solutions that meet end user expectations relative to performance, usability, and security for the enterprise.

Uses specific knowledge of a discipline to achieve goals through own work. Has specific knowledge or expertise typically gained through formal education or equivalent experience. Uses expertise to provide guidance to others as a project manager or consultant. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Will lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Major Duties

  • Perform CyberArk PAM installation and upgrades.
  • Work on RS2 AccessIT, Bold Technology Manitou, March Networks Security DVR, Bosch Remote Programming System (RPS) & D6200, Stopware Passagepoint Global and Traka (TrakaWeb) systems. Knowledge of these products would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL database and ability to write basic queries.
  • Ability to describe highly technical information in an understandable manner to any audience.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction on a variety of requirements.
  • Experience in Windows programming (.Net, VB Scripting, PowerShell, Administrative scripting) is a plus.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, determines, and directs testing, implementation, upgrades, and quality control of all application development and support work affecting assigned physical security systems.
  • Perform health check monitoring on all physical security servers and applications to ensure consistent availability of the system to end-users.
  • Ability to document installation procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), DR plans, etc.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent teamwork skills, effective both in independent and collaborative work.
  • Ability to learn and use new technologies.
  • Background in networking, data security, and cloud-based applications.
  • Experience with distributed computing platforms for high-scale systems.
  • Experience with Azure services and ecosystem.
  • Experience with Microsoft and Linux-based environments.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools.

Experience Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security and application support for physical security applications.
  • 2-3 years of experience in deployment, implementation, and upgrades of physical security applications for badging and building access.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • General understanding of project/program management processes.
  • Knowledge of software, hardware, and systems development life cycles and process improvement techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, escalate to vendor or internal support teams, and track through resolution.
  • Change management process and controls.
