Ruda Optical. is a leader in the field of optical engineering; specializing in rapid prototyping, assembly, alignment, and testing of specialized optical systems. We are currently seeking an experienced Opto-Mechanical Engineer to support our projects in the fields of Space Technology, Defense & Aerospace, Optical Lithography, Healthcare, and Calibration & Testing Equipment.


We produce small, precision optical assemblies as well as large, industrial-scale optical systems. Ruda also designs and builds ruggedized systems that are performance-tested in harsh environments such as those encountered in defense and space applications.


From conceptualization to production and delivery, Ruda offers innovative solutions to any optical design or manufacturing challenge. Using state-of-the-art opto-mechanical design software and testing equipment, Ruda ensures the highest degree of quality through all stages of development.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and detail opto-mechanical components and assemblies for custom optical systems.
  • Provide engineering support for the assembly and testing of optical systems
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide high-quality finished products to customers.
  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) with tracking, knowing, and communicating the scope aspect of all assigned engineering projects.
  • Contribute to customer meetings by providing technical input related to project scope.
  • Participate in and contribute to technical troubleshooting sessions.
  • Participate in and contribute to design brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
  • Propose and contribute to internal engineering process improvement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Achieved BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or similar degree, with relevant experience.
  • Two to ten years as a contributing engineer (private industry preferred).
  • Experience in CAD modeling using a variety of software tools.
  • GD&T experience highly desired.
  • Broad knowledge of opto-mechanical systems engineering.
  • Excellent organization and project tracking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a range of software tools for project tracking and communication
