Industry: Aero-Engine (i.e. gas turbine / turbomachinery)

Work Location: East Hartford, CT (customer site)

Work Experience:

  • AS / BS degree in Engineering or Technical field. Other degrees w/ additional relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Quality / Manufacturing Engineering
    • Aero/Industrial Gas Turbine experience - beneficial
  • Experience leading and documenting customer service/deliverable oriented formal projects from pre-quote to closure
  • Experience leading teams (up to 15) charged to perform customer-oriented services
  • Quality Certifications / Trainings (CQE, 6 Sigma/8D, AS/ISO/TS, FAR145) - noteworthy

Roles & Responsibilities:

Quality Engineering conducts work in both OEM and Aftermarket MRO realms. In each, our services support the customer, their suppliers, and their end recipients. We work on both Military and Commercial gas turbine engines. Our services are in the following capacities:

  • Part & Process Qualification / Verification
  • Non-Conforming Material
  • Quality Management System and Process Compliance
  • Process Development / Continuous Improvement / Supplier Development

This high visibility role is pivotal in our planning, providing and assuring high satisfaction to our customers, employees and company stakeholders - each and every day. Through established processes, access to technical and business leaders, and surrounded by a continuous improvement environment, you will manage our customer projects and the people that perform our customer services on a daily basis. Due to customer’s work classification and security, candidate’s citizenship status must be: “U.S. Citizen”

Engage with customer, customer’s suppliers, et al in a competent, technical, and professional manner.

Work Experience

Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:

  • Ability to obtain and retain Quest Global Project Management Certification following company provided training.
  • Understanding of working in an industry regulated environment
  • Operating and remaining compliant to Standard Work, company policy and procedures (self, team)
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite tools
  • Procedural / Technical writing. Generating and giving effective presentations
  • Developing relationships w/ customers
  • Effective flow down of information to team
  • Recruiting, On-boarding, Training / Guiding others
  • Encouraging and recognizing people for contribution and achievement
  • Leading/sponsoring creative and engaging team growth events
  • Developing people; including career development plans, setting yearly objectives, giving/reviewing assessments; managing performance improvements; corrective actions
  • Support Quest Global managers by providing data, summaries, updates, audits
  • Timecard sign offs / high yield (resource planning), employee benefits Q&A
  • Resolving conflict, finding system/process root causes / generating Corrective action
  • Continuously improve Quest Global’s tools, systems, procedures, SW, checklists and scale our business and services

Desired Skills / Attributes:

  • Familiar with the function and terminology of the gas turbine engine/power plant
  • Interaction with MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement/Development initiatives (RC-CA, 6 Sigma, DoE)
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings information. General understanding of GD&T
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized
  • Ability to focus on reoccurring tasks
  • Maintain integrity & ethics in all situations
  • Superior Customer interaction
  • Team builder

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Office and/or Shop Floor Environments
  • Lift / Transport 25 lb (if/when working on-site)
  • Common activities include sitting, walking, and standing
  • Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work – but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
  • Heavily regulated industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
  • Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
  • Full-Time salary role (40hr/wk) w/ company benefits and paid OT (customer funded work).
  • General Shift: M-F flexible, without compromise to our customer’s needs. Unpaid Lunch.
