The Senior Data Analyst & SQL Specialist is responsible for developing reporting for stakeholders. The individual is expected to understand and learn different aspects of the business and how it translates into data to ensure reporting created accurately presents the stakeholders’ needs. They are also responsible for mapping data across several systems and automating processes using different software. The role requires liaising with non-technical users across different teams to understand the business and map out reference tables based on different systems. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a proactive team player with a focus on customer service and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Understand database tables and how each table is related to others
- Develop reports for multiple stakeholders based on their understanding of data
- Ensure databases are backed up daily
- Liaise with external partners when integrating with their systems is necessary to meet business needs
- Analyze different software to identify the best route for process improvements and automation
- Analyze manual processes and make recommendations for automation and automate based on the selected alternative
- Automate, schedule, and maintain a report inventory of all reports required on a frequent basis
- Ability to match and map different sets of data based on business knowledge
- Assist in research of issues during the data validation process to provide solutions for correcting data
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science
- 5+ years’ experience analyzing system functionality working in a professional business environment required
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, coding, and other database systems required for this role
- Experience with data migrations across systems
- Experience performing user acceptance testing required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Advanced Excel Experience required
- Must type at least 40 wpm
- Ability to follow instructions and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of directors, managers, and external service groups
