As the Sr. Manager of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Leading several teams of developers working across varying projects in helping build Disney’s media supply chain.
- Mentoring and guiding team members while assisting in tactical execution.
- Participating in code reviews and larger architectural decision making.
- Managing the operations of your teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for software engineering leadership and direction of talent participations payment systems for The Walt Disney Companies.
- Responsible for software engineering leadership and direction of residuals payment systems for The Walt Disney Companies.
- Accountable for the performance and results of multiple teams of software engineers in multiple locations globally.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between your teams and the product, design, marketing, QA, and business teams.
- Regularly report on status and team health, while identifying team gaps and needs.
- Mentor and grow the careers of managers and senior engineers.
- Help with software design and review and approve software architecture and development plans.
- Assist in recruitment and hiring for your team.
- Any other duties needed to help achieve Business Objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Passion for leadership and relationship building across cross-functional teams.
- Experience in delivering platform services in cloud environments using open-source technologies.
- Ability to make decisions about technical best practices and operational processes.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Good understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- 10+ years of experience building complex platform applications at scale.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams of software engineers.
- BA, BS or equivalent experience demonstrating an expert level understanding of software development and infrastructure.
Desired Experience:
- Entertainment industry Participations.
- Entertainment industry Residuals Payments.
- Accounting Systems.
- Experience with entertainment industry media rights.
- SAP system interfaces.
Compensation:
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $184,300 - $247,100 per year and in Bristol, CT is $184,300 - $247,100 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region and experience.
