Description
ENTEK is seeking applications for an Electrical Drafter (CAD) role to join us on-site at our Yorba Linda, California location (relocation within 40 miles of Yorba Linda is required).
The successful candidate will have wide ranging skills and experience spanning high voltage, high precision mixed signal, low voltage, and embedded system design and development. The role will involve circuit design, schematic capture, and layout management. The Electrical Drafter (CAD) will follow current best practices for Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and reliability/quality including adherence to relevant safety/regulatory/certification requirements.
This position reports to the Controls Supervisors with a dotted line responsibility to the Global Electrical Director for technical assistance.
- Specific responsibilities may include:
- Specify and list all electrical parts needed for purchasing to complete assigned work.
- Review and understand P&ID's.
- Design electrical panels to UL and/or CE requirements.
- Recognize and correct deficiencies in electrical drawings.
- Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for required components.
- Work with the shop on the layout and the build of small to large sized electrical panels.
- Team with mechanical and controls units for optimum build criteria during design.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and PLC ladder-logic listings.
Working Environment
The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
The employee in this role is required to sit for extended periods of time, and is frequently required to talk, hear, and complete tasks that require reaching and finger dexterity, and may occasionally be required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements
- Associate's degree, 4 to 10 years of related experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- AutoCAD electrical, schematic / circuit design.
- Must be familiar with AC and DC drives, PLC-based control systems and instrumentation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, supplier data sheets, and production documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Ability to present information effectively to Operations Team, Management Team, customers, and suppliers.
- Satisfactory results from a pre-employment drug screen.
Salary Description
$66,000 to $91,000 per year
