Senior Product Designer:

As a Senior Product Designer (Lead), you'll lead design for a new product area, critical for our next exciting phase of growth. We work hard to understand the people we're designing for, and to deliver useful and usable products that delight. You'll work across functions and stakeholder groups, contributing your deep knowledge of the user- / human-centered design process to deliver successful outcomes for our users and our business. If you're motivated by solving complex problems alongside some of the brightest folks in the industry, then this is the opportunity for you.

What you'll do:

  1. Define and drive design vision, strategy, and approach, for a critical product area within our Luminate platform.
  2. Act as a key contributor to our design language and system, identifying and designing high-value patterns and components to be used across our suite of products.
  3. Design at the appropriate fidelity - use frameworks, sketches, diagrams, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate and pressure test our ideas.
  4. Use your expertise of design thinking methodologies to facilitate effective cross-functional conversations and workshops, gather and give shape to ideas from our partner teams, and rapidly build prototypes for testing and further iteration.
  5. Design products and experiences consistent with our platform of products, in close collaboration with Engineering.
  6. Collaborate closely with our cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and beyond, to ensure we're getting the best out of our teams, maintaining alignment, and translating Walmart's complex data foundation into high-value products.
  7. Act as a leader within our growing Product Design organization, sharing knowledge, mentoring on best practices, shaping our culture, and helping the team stay up to date on how today's high-performing design teams operate.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User Experience, Visual Communications, or other related field, with 4-6 years of professional experience, or Master's Degree in related field with 3-5 years of professional experience, or 7+ years of professional experience.
  2. A portfolio showcasing shipped design work, preferably in high-complexity industries like finance, healthcare, big data, or other enterprise areas.
  3. Deep understanding of design thinking methodologies and user- / human-centered product design and development.
  4. Track record for turning ambiguity and complexity into effective design solutions.
  5. Ability to leverage the "superpowers" of design (visualization, rapid prototyping, pressure testing ideas early and often) to influence product + business direction.

Perks and benefits:

Beyond competitive pay, this role is eligible to receive incentive awards based on performance. Other great perks include 401(k) match, employee stock purchase plan, paid maternity and parental leave, PTO, multiple health plans, and much more.
