System Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Works under the direction of the Manager of Infrastructure Architecture
• Assists the Operations System Administration team in providing 3rd tier support to enterprise systems
• Assists the IT Security, Application Development, Network and Operations Service teams in the
• implementation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure
• Accepts complete technical responsibility for equipment and assigned technologies
• Makes evaluations and recommendations concerning current systems
• Opens up problem reporting tickets and accurately uses all problem tracking software systems

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requires well developed written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be able to travel to remote sites as may be required in support of operations.
• Must be fluent in the English language.
• Must comply with internal controls.

Experience with the following are a must:

• o Microsoft Server and Active Directory
• o VMware Virtualization technologies
• o Cisco UCS Blade System
• o 3PAR SAN
• o Veeam Backup
• o Microsoft Exchange/Office 365

Experience with the following are a big plus:

• o Microsoft Azure
• o Red Hat Linux
• o Cisco Network
• o Palo Alto Network
• o Powershell scripting
• o Deployment Automation technologies (Ansible, Terraform)
• o VMware vRealize suite of tools
• o VMware NSX-T
• o Load Balancer technologies (Avi, F5)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
• Must have 5 – 8 years relevant application and/or IT operations experience.
• Proven relevant experience with Virtualization technologies
• Extensive experience with Active Directory
