Senior Mobile Engineer - Android

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong and enthusiastic Android Mobile Developer to join our dynamic Application Engineering team to develop and enhance our applications on Android platforms. As a Senior mobile engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications, including improving the architecture. You will work closely with other Engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and user-friendly mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for the Android platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
4. Participate and assist in the entire application lifecycle, including concept, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
5. Debug and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure optimal application performance.
6. Perform unit testing and ensure robustness, reliability, and performance of applications.
7. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.
8. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
9. Implement mobile development best practices to ensure high code quality and performance.
10. Adhere to security and data protection guidelines for mobile applications.

Required Qualifications

1. 6+ years of knowledge in Android SDK Native mobile app development.
2. Mandatory Native Android development, knowledge of cross-platform frameworks like iOS, Flutter, React Native, is a plus.
3. In-depth understanding of programming languages like Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
4. Strong experience building and maintaining Android libraries via Gradle/Maven.
5. Working knowledge of unit and Android tests.
6. Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
7. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and Android UI design principles.
8. Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
9. Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
10. Understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
11. Solid understanding of mobile app design patterns like MVC, MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture.
12. Strong experience collaborating with designers and UX experts to create great user experiences.
13. Building Android Modules, SDKs, Framework is a plus.
14. Working knowledge of automated testing using Espresso UI Automation.
15. Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Fastlane, and using version control tools like Git, GitLab.
16. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies/challenges.
17. Strong understanding of code review guidelines and best practices to ensure high-quality code and continuous improvement within the development team.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Understanding of CI/CD principles.
2. Good understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers.
3. Knowledge of UX best practices, interactive design principles, and mobile accessibility standards.
4. Familiarity with Bluetooth, BT Profiles, Digital Key, Core Bluetooth, External accessory, OAuth 2.0, and iAP2.
5. Experience with Agile and Test-driven development.
6. Familiarity with Google Play policies for App submission.
7. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
